First-overall pick Juraj Slafkovsky will travel with the Montreal Canadiens for their four-game road trip but has not gotten the go-ahead from doctors to return to play, the team announced on Wednesday.
Slafkovsky has missed the Canadiens' last two games due to an upper-body injury.
The forward has been listed as day-to-day since Saturday.
Slafkovsky scored his first NHL goal on Oct. 20 in a 6-2 Canadiens win over the Arizona Coyotes.
The Canadiens (3-4-0) begin their road trip in Buffalo with a game against the Sabres (4-2-0).
