Barron, 22, registered seven goals and six assists in 48 games with the Canadiens last season.
Xhekaj, 23, finished with 10 points (3G, 7A) in 44 games with Montreal in 2023-24. He also led the team in penalty minutes (81) and hits by a defenceman (125). Through his 44 games, the young defender also finished second on the team with a plus-6 differential.
