The Montreal Canadiens traded forward Evgenii Dadonov to the Dallas Stars for forward Denis Gurianov on Sunday.
Dadonov had four goals and 18 points in 50 games with the Canadiens after arriving via trade from the Vegas Golden Knights last June in exchange for Shea Weber.
The 33-year-old from Chelyabinsk, Russia, has 128 goals and 283 points over nine seasons with the Florida Panthers, Ottawa Senators, Golden Knights and Canadiens.
The Canadiens said they will retain 50 per cent of Dadonov's $5 million cap hit. Dadonov is in the final season of a three-year deal he signed with the Senators as an unrestricted free agent in 2020.
Gurianov has recorded two goals and 10 points in 43 games with the Stars this season. The 25-year-old from Tolyatti, Russia, was drafted 12th overall by Dallas in 2015 and has 46 goals and 103 points over six seasons with the club.
