The Vancouver Canucks announced a series of roster updates on Tuesday.
Top prospects Jonathan Lekkerimäki (F) and Elias Pettersson (D) were two of the handful of players who were assigned to the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks.
Lekkerimäki, 20, recorded one goal and two assists in four pre-season games for the Canucks. Pettersson, also 20, played in three games but did not get on the scoresheet.
They were joined by forwards Linus Karlsson, Ty Mueller, and Max Sasson; defencemen Christian Felton, Cole McWard, and Kirill Kudryavtsev; and goaltender Nikita Tolopia.
Meanwhile, forwards Phillip Di Giuseppe and Nate Smith, defenceman Christian Wolanin and goaltender Jiří Patera were placed on waivers for the purpose of assignment to Abbotsford as well.
The Canucks will play one more pre-season game on Friday against the Edmonton Oilers. Their season officially opens Oct. 9 against the Calgary Flames.
