Vancouver Canucks fans might see one of their stars return to the ice to take on the Boston Bruins on Tuesday.
After a few practices in a non-contact shirt, winger Brock Boeser shed the safeguard on Monday, being a full participant on the ice.
"I thought he [Boeser] looked good today," Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet said Monday. "I'll talk to him later this afternoon, see if he's ready to go tomorrow but he looked good."
When Boeser was asked by reporters how he thought today's skate went, the Minnesota native was strikingly positive.
"It felt great. Any time you get to go out there with your teammates and be able to skate full contact it's a nice little treat," Boeser said. "It's always hard to mimic game shape but I've been working hard and I feel better and better out there. We'll see how the rest of the day goes and hopefully, I'm in tomorrow."
This is an encouraging step in the 27-year-old's return from injury, which he sustained on Nov. 7 against the Los Angeles Kings.
Boeser was injured by a hit from Kings forward Tanner Jeannot, which garnered a three-game suspension for the winger.
Boeser has been off to a strong start this season with six goals and five assists in 12 games.
As a first-round pick (No. 23) in the 2015 NHL Draft, Boeser has registered 185 goals in 491 total career games all with the Canucks.
