A familiar face was back on the ice for the Vancouver Canucks.
Star forward Brock Boeser returned to practice in a non-contact jersey on Friday in Ottawa after missing the last two weeks with a concussion.
Boeser was injured by a hit from Los Angeles Kings forward Tanner Jeannot earlier in November which garnered a three-game suspension for the Kings forward.
The 27-year-old had been off to a strong start with six goals and five assists in 12 games.
Boeser's timeline for getting back into a game remains unclear, but on Wednesday head coach Rick Tocchet said he wouldn't come on the team's six-game Eastern Conference road trip if he was ruled out for all six games.
Boeser's presence in Ottawa, then, may mean he has a shot to come back soon.
The Canucks are also missing forward J.T. Miller, who on Tuesday took an indefinite leave of absence for personal reasons.
Vancouver's next three games, all on the road, come against Ottawa on Saturday, Boston on Tuesday and Pittsburgh on Wednesday.
