The Vancouver Canucks were without defenceman Ethan Bear in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers because of personal reasons.
In 35 games this season, Bear has 10 points while averaging 18:14 minutes per game for the Canucks.
Vancouver acquired the 25-year-old defenceman along with minor-league forward Lane Pederson from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for a 2023 fifth-round draft pick.
