Canucks' Ekman-Larsson, Lazar leave game vs. Rangers with lower-body injuries

Vancouver Canucks defenceman Oliver Ekman-Larsson and forward Curtis Lazar left Wednesday's game against the New York Rangers with lower-body injuries.

Ekman-Larsson was noticeably in discomfort getting off the ice during his last shift in the first period after attempting to hit Rangers forward Vladimir Tarasenko.

The 31-year-old Swede has two goals and 20 assists in 53 games this season.

"I haven't talked to doctors, so I don't know how severe it is," Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet told reporters after the game.

Lazar, who scored the game's opening goal, left during the third period, however, Tocchet said he doesn't "think it's that serious."

The 28-year-old Lazar has three goals and two assists in 45 games during the 2022-23 campaign.
