The Vancouver Canucks did a partial house-cleaning of their coaching staff on Sunday, announcing that assistant coaches Scott Walker, Kyle Gustafson and video coach Darryl Seward will not return.
The club said assistants Brad Shaw and Jason King would return for the 2022-23 season, supporting head coach Bruce Boudreau. Ian Clark returns as director of goaltending and head goaltending coach.
Walker decided against returning for personal reasons. He was hit in the head by a puck during a game and was away from the team for weeks with vertigo-like symptoms. His family is in Ontario.
Boudreau replaced Travis Green, who was fired Dec. 5, along with GM Jim Benning. The Canucks went 32-15-10 the remainder of the season and went from last place in the Pacific Division to finish five points out of a playoff berth.
