Canucks' Hughes, Pettersson doubtful vs. Kraken

The Christmas break may not have been enough time for Vancouver Canucks stars Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson to get back to full health.

Canucks coach Rick Tocchet told reporters on Friday that the two players are unlikely to play Saturday's game against the Seattle Kraken, per Patrick Johnston of Postmedia.

Hughes played after being a game-time decision for the Canucks' last game on Monday against the San Jose Sharks.

Pettersson was injured in the same contest against the Sharks and left the bench early in the third period.

Earlier Friday, the Canucks recalled forwards Phillip Di Giuseppe and Max Sasson, and defenceman Guillaume Brisebois from AHL Abbotsford.

Hughes (42 points) and Pettersson (28 points) are first and second in scoring for the Canucks this season.

Meanwhile, Tocchet said defenceman Filip Hronek has been skating and making progress. He has been on long-term injured reserve with a lower-body injury since late November. Around that time, the Canucks estimated he would miss about eight weeks.
