The Vancouver Canucks have recalled forward Linus Karlsson from Abbotsford of the AHL, the NHL team announced Wednesday.
The move comes less than 24 hours after Canucks forward Phillip Di Giuseppe exited a game against the Ottawa Senators with an undisclosed injury.
After the game, Canucks coach Rick Tocchet said he expected it to be "a while" before Di Giuseppe is able to return to the lineup.
Karlsson made his NHL debut with the Canucks earlier this year, playing three games without registering a point. The Swedish-born forward has seven goals and 16 assists for 23 points in 25 games for Abbotsford this season.
