Jonathan Lekkerimäki is back in Vancouver.
The Canucks announced Monday that forward Dakota Joshua has been placed on injured reserve retroactive to Jan. 3, and Lekkerimäki has been recalled from Abbotsford of the American Hockey League on an emergency basis.
Lekkerimäki is one of Vancouver's top prospects, a first-round pick in 2022, the 20-year-old made his NHL debut earlier this season. He has one goal in five games with the big club, and 12 goals and five assists in 21 games in the AHL.
Joshua suffered an apparent leg injury against Nashville last Friday, and will be out for at least the next two games. In 24 games this season, the 28-year-old has two goals and two assists.
Head coach Rick Tocchet told reporters at Monday's game-day skate that Joshua is currently listed as week-to-week.
He enjoyed a breakout campaign last year, scoring 18 goals and 32 points in only 63 games. Joshua signed a four-year, $13 million contract extension with Vancouver in the off-season.
The Canucks begin a five-game road trip Monday in Montreal.
