The Vancouver Canucks have agreed to terms with defenceman Christian Felton on a one-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Thursday.
Felton, 24, recently completed his senior year at Merrimack College, where he scored three goals and registered seven points in 26 games.
“We are happy to have Christian join our organization,” Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin said in a statement. “We brought him into our development camp last summer and have kept a close eye on his progress. We look forward to working with him and helping Christian adjust to things as he starts his pro hockey career.”
Felton was invited to the Canucks' development camp as an undrafted free agent last summer.
Prior to college hockey, Felton played in the BCHL for the Veron Vipers, with 15 points in 50 games.
