Sammy Blais has earned an AHL contract and an NHL professional tryout.
The Vancouver Canucks announced Thursday that the 28-year-old forward has been invited to training camp after signing with their Abbotsford affiliate.
Blais, a native of Montmagny, Que., spent the 2023-24 season with the St. Louis Blues, recording seven points (one goal and six assists) in 53 games.
Drafted by the Blues in 2014, Blais spent four seasons with the team before being traded to the New York Rangers in July 2021. He spent a season and a half in New York before being traded back to St. Louis in February 2023.
Blais has 71 points (24 goals and 44 assists) across 257 career NHL games.
