The Vancouver Canucks have invited veteran defenceman Danny DeKeyser to training camp on a professional tryout contract.
DeKeyser, 32, has spent his entire 10-year career with his hometown Detroit Red Wings. Last season, he appeared in 59 games with the Red Wings and recorded 11 points. He ranked second on the team in blocked shots (102) and fifth in hits (49).
The six-foot-three defensive defenceman has appeared in 547 career games with the Red Wings, collecting 146 points and 266 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in 19 career playoff games.
