The Vancouver Canucks have signed defenceman Wyatt Kalynuk to a one-year, two-way deal worth $750,000.
After getting drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in 2017, the team ultimately decided to forgo signing Kalynuk. The Manitoba native ended up signing his entry-level contract as a free agent with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2020.
Since the 2020-2021 season, the 25-year-old has played 26 games at the NHL level, collecting nine points.
Kalnyuk has spent most of his professional career to date with the Blackhawks' AHL affiliate, the Rockford Ice Hogs. In 52 games with the team during the 2021-2022 season, Kalynuk had seven goals and 20 assists for 27 points.
