Canucks defenceman Carson Soucy is expected to be out week-to-week with a lower-body injury, head coach Rick Tocchet told reporters on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old left Sunday's game against the Montreal Canadiens after blocking a shot on the side of his foot in the second period. Soucy will undergo further evaluation to determine a more definitive timetable for his return.
Defence partner Tyler Myers was also injured that same shift, but returned to the game shortly after.
Myers didn't practise with the team on Tuesday, but Tocchet believes he will be available on Wednesday.
In a corresponding move, the Canucks have recalled defenceman Akito Hirose from AHL Abbotsford.
Hirose signed a one-year, entry-level contract as a free agent out of college in March and appeared in seven games with the Canucks last season, recording three assists in that time.
