The Vancouver Canucks will start goaltender Spencer Martin in Friday’s game against the Florida Panthers, head coach Bruce Boudreau announced.
Martin has played in seven games for the AHL’s Abbotsford Canucks in the 2021-22 season, recording five wins with a .921 save percentage and a 2.24 goals-against average.
The 26-year-old last suited up for NHL action in the 2016-17 season, playing for the Colorado Avalanche.
Martin registered a .865 save percentage and a 4.35 goals-against average in the three appearances he has made in the NHL. Coincidentally, his NHL debut took place exactly five years ago on January 21, 2017.
