The Washington Capitals will be down a pair of defenceman as they open their first-round playoff series with the New York Rangers on Sunday.
Defenceman Rasmus Sandin and Nick Jensen were not on the ice for warmup ahead of the contest and were confirmed to be out with upper-body injuries.
Sandin, 24, last played for the Capitals on April 7. He suited up in 68 games in the regular season, scoring three goals and 23 points.
Jensen, meanwhile, has been out since April 13 after scoring one goal and 14 points in 78 games with Washington.
