The Washington Capitals have re-signed forward Connor McMichael to a two-year, $4.2-million contract extension, the team announced Monday.
McMichael, 23, recorded 33 points (18 goals, 15 assists) in 80 games with Washington in 2023-24, establishing single-season career highs in goals, assists, points and games played.
McMichael spent most of the 2022-23 season with the Hershey Bears, helping them win a Calder Cup.
In 155 career NHL games with the Capitals, McMichael has recorded 51 points (27 goals, 24 assists).
Washington selected McMichael in the first round (25th overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft.
