The Washington Capitals have signed forward Ivan Miroshnichenko to a three-year entry-level contract worth $2.56 million, the team announced Monday.
The Capitals selected Miroshnichenko in the 2022 NHL Draft with the 20th-overall pick. The 19-year-old battled Hodgkins lymphoma throughout his draft year before making his KHL debut in December of 2022 following rounds of chemotherapy.
In 23 games with Avangard Omsk he scored three goals and one assist before mutually agreeing to terminate the contract, paving the way for Miroshnichenko to sign with the Capitals.
