Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson was limited to only three shifts in Game 1 against the Florida Panthers with what the team later called a lower-body injury.
It's unclear how Wilson was injured but he was shown on the bench in some discomfort after taking a stick to the face early in the game on Tuesday. But the announcement after the game confirms the injury is unrelated to that play.
Wilson made the most of this limited ice time, scoring the first goal of the game.
The 28-year-old had 24 goals and 52 points this season. The Capitals ultimately won the game 4-2.
