Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson and defenceman Rasmus Sandin are day-to-day with upper-body injuries, the team said Tuesday.
Sandin missed Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Kings with an illness, while Wilson took a stick to the face and emerged with a bloody nose in that game — but eventually returned.
However, Capitals coach Spencer Carbery told reporters that he is optimistic Wilson will return to practice on Wednesday.
Wilson was named to the All-Star Game for the second time in three years last week. He has 11 goals and eight assists for 19 points in 38 games this season.
Sandin has 11 assists in 36 games this season.
The Capitals return to action Thursday against the Seattle Kraken.
Carbery also said forward T.J. Oshie (upper-body injury) could return against the Kraken.
