Things have gotten worse for the last-place Chicago Blackhawks.
Starting goalie Petr Mrazek suffered an injury Saturday vs. the Winnipeg Jets and will not return to the game, the team announced.
Midway through the first period, Mrazek got spun around after making a save and stayed on the ice in obvious discomfort before skating off. During the first TV timeout of the game, he talked with the trainers but remained in the game.
The 32-year-old Mrazek has started 19 games this season, posting a 2.86 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage.
Arvid Soderblom, 25, replaced Mrazek for Chicago. He's started seven games this season with a sparkling .919 save percentage and a 2.46 GAA.
The Blackhawks begin a three-game East Coast road trip Monday against the Rangers, followed by the Islanders, then the Devils.
