The Colorado Avalanche have signed defenceman Erik Brannstrom to a one-year, $900,000 deal, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported on Tuesday.
Brannstrom, 24, was a restricted free agent coming into the summer but did not receive a qualifying offer from the Ottawa Senators.
The native of Eksjo, Sweden, picked up three goals and 17 assists in 76 games in the 2023-24 season. Over his NHL career, he has seven goals and 62 assists in 266 games, all with the Ottawa Senators.
He was originally drafted by the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2017 NHL Draft, going 15th overall in the first round.
He was acquired by the Senators as part of the trade that sent Mark Stone to Vegas in 2019.
