Two nights after allowing seven goals on 23 shots, Alexandar Georgiev will get the start in net again for the Avalanche for Game 2 of Colorado's first-round playoff series in Winnipeg.
Head coach Jared Bednar confirmed the decision to media on Tuesday ahead of the game (9:30 p.m. ET / 8:30 p.m. CT on CBC and Sportsnet+).
Georgiev finished Game 1's 7-6 defeat with a .696 save percentage, while in the opposing goal, Jets starter Connor Hellebuyck stopped 40 of 46 for an .870 stat line.
The Bulgarian-born Georgiev finished the season with a 38-18-5 record with an .897 save percentage and 3.02 goals-against average.
In other team news ahead of the game, defenceman Samuel Girard stuck around for extra practise, which seemed to hint that he was not quite ready to return to action.
