Top pick Connor Bedard will be in the lineup for the Chicago Blackhawks when they host the Minnesota Wild for their final home game of the pre-season Thursday night.
Bedard, who was drafted first overall in June, leads the Blackhawks in pre-season scoring with five points (one goal and four assists) in three games.
The 18-year-old centre from North Vancouver, B.C., recorded two assists in his pre-season debut last Thursday and scored an empty-netter Tuesday for his first goal.
Bedard was drafted first overall after registering a league-leading 143 points (71 goals and 72 assists) in 57 games with the Regina Pats of the WHL. He also guided Canada to a gold medal at the World Junior Hockey Championship and was named tournament MVP after scoring 23 points (nine goals and 14 assists) in only seven games.
