Corey Perry is set to make his Edmonton Oilers debut on Saturday at home against the Nashville Predators.
"It's looking as if he'll play tomorrow," said Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch after practice on Friday.
Tony Brar, an Oilers TV reporter, reported that Perry skated on a third line with Ryan McLeod and Dylan Holloway in practice.
The Oilers announced a one-year contract with the 38-year-old Perry on Monday. The veteran forward was a free agent after his contract was terminated by the Chicago Blackhawks in November.
Perry had four goals and five assists in 16 games with Chicago this season.
Edmonton will be looking for their 16th straight win on Saturday, which would tie the 2016-17 Columbus Blue Jackets for the second-longest streak in NHL history.
