The Arizona Coyotes have claimed goaltender Harri Sateri off waivers from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The 32-year-old signed to a one-year deal with the Leafs on Sunday but needed to clear waivers before he could join the team.
Sateri backstopped Finland to Olympic gold at the Beijing Olympics going a perfect 5-0 with a 1.00 GAA and a .962 save percentage. The 32-year-old also posted a 14-16-5 record with a 2.02 GAA and .926 SV over 38 games in the KHL this past season.
The Finnish goalie was a fourth-round draft pick of the San Jose Sharks in the 2008 NHL Draft. He made nine appearances with the Florida Panthers, going 4-4-0 with a 2.92 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage.
Petr Mrazek, Kyle Clifford, Kyle Turris, Riley Nash and Christian Jaros all cleared waivers.
Mrazek had a 10-6-0 record for the Leafs this season along with an .884 save percentage and a 3.42 goals-against average with the Leafs this season. He signed a three-year, $11.4 million contract with a $3.2 million average annual value in the off-season.
