The Arizona Coyotes have chosen Logan Cooley third overall in the 2022 NHL Draft.
Cooley is a centre for the U.S. National Development Program.
A Pittsburgh native, he grew up playing in the Penguins' Elite Program before moving to Michigan with the USNDP. Last season with the USNDP, he had 27 goals and 75 points in 51 games.
Cooley is committed to play for the University of Minnesota next season.
"It's everything I dreamed of," Cooley said in an interview with Sportsnet. "Being able to be selected by such a great organization, a team that has a bright future. I'm glad to be part of the organization."
