The Arizona Coyotes have signed forward John Hayden to a one-year contract, general manager Bill Armstrong announced Friday.

Arizona did not release the financial terms of Hayden’s deal.
“We are very pleased to have John join our organization,” Armstrong said. “John is a big, tough, physical winger who is difficult to play against. He is also a smart player with good hockey sense. He will add size and grit for our forward group.”
Hayden, 25, played for the Devils last season after a three-year stint with the Blackhawks. He had four points and 77 penalty minutes in 43 games last year.
