The Arizona Coyotes have terminated the contract of former assistant general manager Steve Sullivan, the club announced Thursday.
No reason for the termination was given. The Coyotes said they will not be filling the vacant position this season.
Sullivan, who played 16 seasons in the NHL, one for the Coyotes, joined the organization’s front office as a development coach in 2014-15. He moved on to a role as the team’s director of player development in 2016-17, before becoming assistant GM in 2017-18.
The 46-year-old has served as assistant GM for the NHL club and GM for their AHL affiliate in Tucson for the past three seasons.
Sullivan briefly took over as interim GM for the Coyotes following the departure of John Chayka in July 2020, until the team’s current manager, Bill Armstrong, was hired for the role in September.
