The Dallas Stars have signed forward Chase Wheatcroft to a three-year entry-level deal beginning in the 2023-24 season, per general manager Jim Nill.
The 20-year-old currently sits second in the Western Hockey League in scoring with 104 points (47 goals and 57 assists) in 65 games this season with the Prince George Cougars. He leads the league in both power-play goals (22) and overtime goals (3).
Across the three seasons prior to his breakout, Wheatcroft had spent time with the Lethbridge Hurricanes and Winnipeg ICE, collecting 82 points in 137 games.
Hailing from Calgary, Alta., Wheatcroft went unselected in his first two seasons of NHL Draft eligibility.
