The New Jersey Devils are considering all options ahead of the 2022 NHL Draft, including trading the second overall pick.
Elliotte Friedman reported during the 32 Thoughts segment on Hockey Night in Canada that the Devils are set to meet on the matter. New Jersey's front office should have a list of players they would be interested in acquiring for the second overall pick in the coming weeks.
Ahead of the NHL Draft Lottery, Devils general manager said he was "open to whatever help our team improve."
"If that is using a pick like that, wherever it may be, to help bring in a player that we know, and feel, will help impact the results that we are looking for, absolutely," he added.
The Ottawa Senators have also publicly expressed that they will be evaluating moving their seventh overall pick. The 2022 NHL Draft will be held on July 6-7 at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
