New Jersey Devils goaltender MacKenzie Blackwood is out of the lineup with a sprained MCL, head coach Lindy Ruff told reporters Monday.
Blackwood is expected to meet with doctors Tuesday.
The 25-year-old appeared to sustain the knee injury during Thursday's 4-3 win against the Edmonton Oilers. He left the game in the second period after making a save and falling in the crease.
Blackwood holds a 4-2-0 record with a 2.79 goals-against average and .880 save percentage in seven games this season.
The Devils lead the Metropolitan Division with a 9-3-0 record and have won six straight games.
