New Jersey Devils forward Jack Hughes will make his return to the lineup Thursday night against the Calgary Flames after missing over a month with an upper-body injury.
Hughes was injured on Jan. 5 against the Chicago Blackhawks when he took an awkward fall and appeared to be in pain as he skated off the ice. He returned to Devils' practice on Monday wearing a non-contact jersey.
Hughes was slated to co-captain Team Hughes at the 2024 All-Star Game with Vancouver Canucks defenceman and brother Quinn Hughes, but was replaced by teammate Jesper Bratt when it became clear Hughes would not be able to skate in the event.
He joined Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson (who replaced Hughes as co-captain) in the All-Star Player Draft before returning to New Jersey.
Hughes has been limited by injuries to 32 games this season, though he still ranks second on the team in points with 45.
