The New Jersey Devils will have two important defencemen back in the lineup against the Detroit Red Wings Thursday night.
Head coach Sheldon Keefe confirmed that Luke Hughes and Brett Pesce will both make their season debuts against the Red Wings.
Hughes was recovering from a shoulder injury suffered in early September while Pesce, one of the team's big off-season additions, was recovering from off-season surgery on a fractured fibula.
While the Devils are getting healthier, the Red Wings are dealing with a flu bug in the locker room. Head coach Derek Lalonde said some players' availability for the game will have to be determined closer to puck drop.
