New Jersey Devils captain Nico Hischier reportedly has a hamstring strain and will be re-evaluated in 10 days, according to head coach Lindy Ruff.
The centre tallied 60 points in 70 games for the Devils last season recording 21 goals and 39 assists, career-highs in both categories.
Hischier was the first overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft and has played 300 career games with the Devils, tallying 206 points on 78 goals and 128 assists.
