“The COVID thing hit me pretty hard,” Subban said. “I’m working through it, battling through it. Remember to take care of yourself, stay healthy, I love you guys and I’ll definitely be back in the mix soon.”
Subban was added to the NHL’s COVID protocol list on Tuesday. In 44 games this season, the 31-year-old has five goals and 19 points.
There are four players on the league’s protocol list as of Friday morning, including three players on the Colorado Avalanche with Mikko Rantanen joining Philipp Grubauer and Joonas Donskoi. The Avalanche had three games postponed before returning to the ice on Thursday with a 4-2 win over the St. Louis Blues.
