The New Jersey Devils have re-signed restricted free agent forward Michael McLeod to a two-year contract, the team announced Thursday.
The deal is worth $1.95 million with an average annual value of $975,000, with $950,000 to be paid to McLeod in 2021-22 and $1 million in 2022-23.
The 23-year-old just finished his third season with the Devils, recording career-highs with nine goals, six assists and 15 points in 52 games played. His first-career NHL goal came on Jan. 26 against the Philadelphia Flyers.
McLeod also spent part of three seasons with the AHL’s Binghamton Devils, registering 14 goals and 57 points over 108 regular-season games.
The Mississauga, Ont., native was drafted by the Devils in the first round of the 2016 NHL Draft, going 12th overall.
