The New Jersey Devils have signed forward Xavier Parent to a one-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Friday.
Parent, 23, has 11 goals and 26 points in 44 games with the Utica Comets in the American Hockey League this season. He missed the start of the campaign due to an injury.
The five-foot-eight, 170-pound forward ranks second on Utica with four game-winning goals, and seventh in shots with 88. The 23-year-old signed with Utica as an undrafted free agent in 2022.
Parent, who hails from Laval, Quebec, played five seasons in QMJHL, where he recorded career highs of 51 goals and 106 points in his final season in 2021-22.
Over three seasons in the AHL, Parent has totalled 29 goals and 77 points in 129 games, while contributing three goals and an assist in the Calder Cup playoffs.
