New Jersey Devils defenceman Brendan Smith has bee fined $2,865 for his trip on Seattle Kraken forward Devin Shore during Thursday's game, the NHL's Department of Player Safety announced Friday.
The fine is the maximum allowed under the collective bargaining agreement.
The fine comes a week after Smith was suspended two games for slashing Philadelphia Flyers forward Travis Konecny on Nov. 30. Konecny was fined $5,000 for his role in the altercation.
The Devils won Thursday's inter-conference tilt 2-1.
