New Jersey Devils star forward Jack Hughes will be sidelined week-to-week with an upper-body injury, coach Lindy Ruff announced Thursday.
Hughes, 21, is the Devils' leading scorer this season, with 35 goals and 32 assists for 67 points in 50 games.
The Devils are performing better than expected this season, thanks largely to the early emergence of Hughes, with a 33-13-4 record that is good for second in the Metropolitan Division. The Orlando native was the first-overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft.
