After nearly two weeks of trade speculation, the Ottawa Senators emerged as the winners of the Jakob Chychrun sweepstakes on Wednesday.

Ottawa pulled off the deal by sending a conditional first-round pick in 2023, a conditional second-round pick in 2024 and a second-round pick in 2026 to the Arizona Coyotes.

After the trade was announced, hockey and Senators' fans took to social media to share their reactions to Ottawa acquiring the 24-year-old defenceman. After comparing the Chychrun deal to other trades made around the league, the early verdict on Arizona's return for the coveted blue liner is underwhelming, to say the least.
