The Anaheim Ducks have acquired forward Josiah Slavin from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for defenceman Hunter Drew.
Slavin, 24, is the younger brother of Carolina Hurricanes star defenceman Jaccob Slavin. The Erie, Col., native has played exclusively in the AHL this year with the Blackhawks affiliate Rockford IceHogs, amassing three goals and eight assists in 51 games.
The 2018 seventh-round selection also played 15 games with Chicago during the 2021-22 NHL season, tallying a lone assist.
In return, Chicago receives Hunter Drew, a right-handed defenceman that has spent the entire 2022-23 season with the San Diego Gulls, amassing five goals and six assists in 44 contests.
Drew, 24, had a breakout AHL season last year with the Gulls, including 17 goals, earning himself a brief two-game call-up to Anaheim, his only NHL action to date.
