The Anaheim Ducks have claimed defenceman Lassi Thomson off waivers from the Ottawa Senators, per Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
The Senators selected Thomson with the 19th overall pick in the first round of the 2019 draft. He has played in 18 career NHL games over the last two seasons, picking up his first five career points in 2021-22. He was held off the scoresheet in two games with Ottawa in 2022-23.
The 23-year-old played 56 games with the Belleville Senators in the AHL last season, scoring seven goals and registering 33 points.
Ottawa announced it was placing Thomson on waivers Friday, alongside forwards Josh Currie, Garrett Pilon and defenceman Dillon Heatherington.
