The Anaheim Ducks will get a boost for Saturday's game against the Seattle Kraken as skilled forward Trevor Zegras will make his return to the lineup, the team announced.
Zegras has missed the past 20 games with a lower-body injury he suffered on Nov. 7 against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The 22-year-old forward is expected to take Leo Carlsson's spot on the Ducks' top line after Carlsson suffered a serious lower-body injury on Thursday against the Calgary Flames.
Zegras has played in 12 games for the Ducks this season and has just one goal and one assist, which is well behind his 23-goal, 65-point pace from 2022-23.
The ninth-overall pick by the Ducks in the 2019 NHL Draft signed a three-year contract extension with the Ducks on Oct. 2 worth $17.25 million, with an annual salary cap hit of $5.75 million.
After a strong start to the season, the Ducks have struggled lately and now sit seventh in the Pacific Division with a 12-20-0 record.
