Nikolaj Ehlers was not on the ice for the Winnipeg Jets' morning skate on Thursday due to a "nagging injury," but head coach Rick Bowness expects the Danish forward to play Friday night.
"If it's sore, we're not going to make it any worse, let's put it that way," Bowness said, not specifying what the injury was. He added, "We do expect him to play tomorrow."
Ehlers, 28, is tied for fourth on the team in scoring with 37 points (16 goals, 21 assists) in 54 games. He reportedly suffered an upper-body injury a week ago in practice and was a game-time decision to play on Saturday, but managed to deliver the game-winning goal against the Flyers.
The Jets (34-15-5) play Friday in Chicago.
