The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced cuts to their training camp roster in preparation for the 2021 season.
Toronto’s camp group was trimmed down to 26 players with 15 forwards, eight defencemen and three goaltenders. Some players to survive cuts include forwards Nick Robertson, Adam Brooks, Travis Boyd and defenceman Rasmus Sandin.
The following players have been loaned to the Toronto Marlies or placed on waivers in order to be sent down to the AHL.
Forwards: Kenny Agostino, Joey Anderson, Justin Brazeau, Rourke Chartier, Pierre Engvall, Tyler Gaudet, Scott Sabourin, Nic Petan.
Defencemen: Mac Hollowell, Teemu Kivihalme, Timothy Liljegren, Martin Marincin, Calle Rosen
Goaltender: Michael Hutchinson (cleared waivers)
The Leafs open their regular season on Jan. 13 against the Montreal Canadiens at 7 p.m. ET on Sportsnet.
