Blue Jackets' Fantilli returns favour, rocks LeBron's jersey

Rarely in their history have the Columbus Blue Jackets been associated with greatness.

For a brief moment this week, though, that was not the case.

Blue Jackets star Adam Fantilli wore a LeBron James jersey down the tunnel ahead of Columbus' game against the Florida Panthers on Thursday.

It was a nod to James himself, who rocked a Blue Jackets sweater on the bench one night earlier.

James, an Ohio native, has appeared to take notice of the Blue Jackets' surprising playoff push. The four-time NBA champion and 10-time finalist is hoping to add to those totals with new teammate Luka Doncic and the Lakers this season but is currently sidelined with a groin injury.

Comparatively, the Blue Jackets have advanced past the first round just once since entering the NHL in 2000.

Columbus was three points behind the Montreal Canadiens for the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference as play began on Thursday.
